introduction
- i learn this dish from you tube
- never heard of such chinese seasoning way of baking cod
main ingredients
- cod fillet
marinate ingredients
- ginger
- spring onion
- 2 gloves x garlic
- 1/3 tablespoon garlic salt
- 1/3 teaspoon sugar
- pinch of white pepper powder
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- pinch of cooking wine
- oil (add just before oven)
dipping sauce ingredients (optional)
- 1/3 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1/3 teaspoon dark soy sauce
- 1/3 teaspoon rice vinegar
- 1/2 tablespoon sugar
- little chili sauce (optional)
steps
1. use kitchen paper to absorb all excess water content
2. slice fish fillet in thick cut
3. sliced ginger and bash it..............then chop it
4. bash garlic..............then diced it
5. bash white bulb of spring onion..............then chop it
6. mix marinate ingredient except oil
7. put in cod and mix well with marinate ingredient............then put in fridge until oven heat up
8. preheat oven at 220°c
9. add a teaspoon of oil into cod.................mix well
10. apply oil on aluminum foil
11. put cod onto aluminum foil.............place all marinate ingredient on top of cod
12. put in middle level............switch to top & bottom heat mode for ~4 mins
13. keep same temperature, setting.............move up cod to top level...............stay for 5 mins
14. ready dipping sauce
15. done
taste
-perfect to pair some green............i poached some broccoli
-perfect to pair some green............i poached some broccoli
-easy to prepare dish.............fillet still juicy............rich in spring onion and subtle ginger flavor...........just right savory taste
-i dun need the dipping sauce to go with cod.............but for the broccoli
areas of improvement
-i am quite happy with this attempt
