introduction
- it is one of korean signature dishes
- usually with either pork or beef..............but i would like to make a veggie version
- it is quite a time consuming dish to cook
main ingredients
- bean sprouts
- carrot
- courgette
- turnip
- spinach
- egg
- sesame seed
- honey
- sesame oil
- korean spicy powder (replaced by japanese spicy powder coz available)
- fish sauce
- rice
- garlic
pairing sauce ingredients (optional)
- 1 tablespoon korean chili paste (self adjust to your preference)
- 1 tablespoon mirin
- 1 teaspoon sugar (self adjust to your preference)
steps
1. thinly slice carrot, courgette (without centre seeds) turnip and minced garlic
2. add a pinch of salt into turnip...........mix it well.............let it rest for 10 mins
3. soak and clean up bean sprout
4. drain it
5. blanched bean sprouts in hot water for 1-2 mins
6. drain it and set aside
7. blanched spinach in hot water for 1 min
8. put in cold water..............then drain it
9. add oil in the pan.............put in courgette.............stir fry in high heat for 1 min............add a pinch of salt..............set aside for later use
10. add oil in the pan.............put in carrot.............stir fry in high heat for 1 min............add a pinch of salt..............set aside for later use
11. add pinch of salt, very little raw minced garlic, sesame oil and sesame seeds to bean sprouts...........mix well
12. squeeze water out of spinach.............chop in half.............add pinch of salt, very little raw garlic, sesame oil and sesame seeds...........mix well
13. squeeze water out of turnip.............add red pepper powder, fish sauce, tiny bit of honey and sesame seeds...........mix well
taste
-all ingredient taste very natural
-all ingredient taste very natural
-because i mix the pairing sauce well with all rice and ingredient together............therefore pairing sauce is the focus which gives quite spicy, savory, sweet and some wine flavor
-the pairing sauce finally taste authentic
-but if you dun go with pairing sauce, you will have to consider giving a stronger seasoning in order to give the dish some flavor
