hong kong style french toast

introduction
- it is a very typical afternoon tea option in cha chaan teng (hong kong style cafe) in hong kong

main ingredients
- white bread
- 2 x eggs
- peanut butter
- butter (of course, i buy lurpak...............lol)
- syrup <-- can be replaced by condensed milk/ honey/ maple syrup

steps
1. cut off 4 sides of white bread
2. beat 2 eggs...............add a pinch of salt
3. spread peanut butter (smooth/ crunchy type..............thin/ thick.............up to your preference)
4. soak the bread into egg batter for 1-2 mins
5. pan fry the toast top, bottom and 4 sides until brown
6. plate the toast............add a thick cut butter on top.............pour in syrup (authentic way).............i use honey coz i have stock

taste
-buttery and sweet

areas of improvement
-source another white bread which is less soft/ use white bread which is close to expiry date.............stiffer bread gives more volume to the dish
-toast better match with syrup than honey..............perhaps i get used to pair with syrup
-try mixing little honey into peanut butter (coz my peanut butter has no added sugar)............then pair with maple syrup next time
-pan fry a bit longer to give more crispy crust
